La Bodega Business Plus de Iberia se ha hecho con el premio "Wines on the Wing" que organiza anualmente la publicación norteamericana Global Traveler. En competencia con 27 líneas aéreas de todo el mundo, Iberia ha sido la primera compañía en la historia de estos galardones que ha conseguido colocar todos sus vinos entre los 10 primeros de cada categoría.El premio reconoce la nueva Bodega Business Plus, puesta en marcha por el especialista en vinos españoles TodoVino para los vuelos de largo recorrido de la Clase Business Plus de Iberia. El objetivo: promocionar el vino español y convertirse en escaparate de sus mejores etiquetas dando a conocer su riqueza y su diversidad geográfica y varietal.
La edición 2008 de "Wines on the Wing" fue la mayor de su historia: un jurado formado por 36 expertos evaluó 140 muestras procedentes de 60 regiones vinícolas repartidas en 12 países. Entre todos los vinos presentados, los albariños de Rías Baixas Veigadares 2006 y Nora 2006 quedaron en segunda y quinta posición respectivamente en la lista de blancos, mientras que los tintos Ramón Bilbao Edición Limitada Crianza 2005 de Rioja y Casa de las Especias Crianza 2004 de Yecla ocuparon las posiciones tercera y quinta. Por último, el cava Castillo de Perelada Brut Reserva fue sexto en la lista de espumosos.Tanto éstas como el resto de etiquetas presentes en la carta de vinos de Iberia se seleccionan aplicando la misma filosofía que el equipo de TodoVino emplea en La Guía TodoVino, publicación de periodicidad anual que selecciona y reseña en detalle los mejores vinos españoles tras catar unas 5.000 muestras. A partir de este grupo de etiquetas de calidad y atendiendo a las necesidades del servicio a bordo, se realizan además catas en vuelo para descubrir qué vinos se adaptan mejor para ser consumidos a 30.000 pies de altura.
La carta de vinos de la Clase Business Plus de Iberia diseñada por TodoVino consta de dos blancos y tres tintos y se renueva trimestralmente. Se distingue por ofrecer amplia información de cada una de las etiquetas seleccionadas; información que el pasajero encontrará también en otros soportes como la revista Ronda Iberia o el vídeo a bordo. Además, los mismo vinos presentes en la carta están disponibles en el los wine bar de las Salas Vip Dalí y Velázquez de la Terminal 4 de Barajas.Todo ello contribuye a ofrecer a los clientes de Iberia una "experiencia vinícola" completa y satisfactoria que les permite a la vez aprender sobre vinos o, simplemente, convertir el vino en parte del entretenimiento a bordo.
